FSC Ireland Steering Committee

FSC Ireland welcomes members to the organisation. Individuals and organisations may join FSC Ireland simply to support the mission of promoting FSC in Ireland.

Members may also serve on the Steering Committee, support development of the national standard, or help promote the concept of responsible forest management and timber procurement and FSC certification nationally.

The members of the current Steering Committee of FSC Ireland are:

Social Chamber
Oisin Naughton, Shannon Region Fisheries Board
Declan Little, Woodlands of Ireland
Peter Sweetman

Environmental Chamber
Maria Cullen
Dr Ruth McGrath, VOICE and Irish Peatlands Conservation Council
Anja Murray, An Taisce
(1 seat vacant)

Economic Chamber
John Jackson
Dr Michael Keane, Coillte
Geraldine O'Sullivan, Irish Farmers Association
Pat O'Sullivan, Society of Irish Foresters

FSC Ireland is structured and administered according to procedures laid down in its M&AoA and the Companies Act (1963). FSC Ireland is a membership organisation - everything is decided by members. All interested parties are welcome to join. Any interested person can also register to give formal comment on drafts of the Irish forest management standard.

FSC is a unique organisation in that it brings together interested people and organisations with widely divergent interests and views. In order to ensure positive and productive collaboration the IFCI Steering Committee uses ground rules and a professional facilitator.

Organisational documents and minutes are available to all interested parties. Click here for a full list of documents and meeting minutes to download.
